Let me see if I can help here because I do speak a little cracker:
The problem is not that you're somehow wrong that "nazi instances exist and nazis create new ones all the time," the problem is that you didn't have to respond at all and certainly not in a smug-ass way that directly implies it's Black people's FAULT their replies are getting carpet bombed by internet nazis posting racial slurs. You're prioritizing your feels about fedi, over their need to share their lived experience re: racism
Furthermore, you need to understand that your intentions here don't matter, and marginalized people cannot realistically know what's in your heart. Whether you mean to or not, you're replicating a longstanding pattern of comfortable nimby racism that posits the problem is speaking and being angry about racism, because racism itself exists as a sort of constant. This attitude ultimately punishes folks victimized by racism, while providing a cover of silence for racists to operate. This is history
It may indeed be that how fedi works *now* is that there's nothing anyone can do but play whack-a-mole with internet nazi servers one at a time after incidents like the one in question here. But should it be that way forever? Why do you and you alone get to decide that? Maybe if enough people point out that what we have now isn't working for them, folks can come together and change how we deal with this problem? But that's not even on the table so long as you're harassing ppl for speaking out.
I myself have sat in on several discussions that point out that the REASON we have an ad hoc, community based approach to addressing racism and servers created for the purposes of doing racism, pretty much comes down to the very poor moderation tools available to work with. Maybe talking about how they don't work at solving the problem, is part of how we get someplace better? How do you know? You certainly won't ever find out telling folks attacked by racists that it's their fault.
You're not going to admit it, but you know I'm not wrong when I say the reason we're here is that you felt attacked by criticism about fedi, and you responded in an all too predictable, extremely privileged way that essentially says "it works fine for me, it's your fault you got hurt because you're doing it wrong."
Even if you're right, and I'm not sure you are, there was nothing noble or helpful about the way you responded. Staying in your lane was totally an option here. You chose wrong.
I just got blocked because I shared an example of the middle of the Venn diagram where the two major #US political parties overlap.
It does not in any way change the fact that the #Biden administration and #Democrats in #Congress are throwing #transgender people under of bus.
Because when the #WhiteHouse says they don't support some kinds of #GenderAffirmingCare for minors, it certainly does align with #Republican talking points.
In this context, #MentalHealth care is indistinguishable from #ConversionTherapy.
Another example demonstrating that some people's #activism does not extend beyond their comfort zone.
I don't know how it feels to be #Black on #Mastodon, though it probably feels similar to being #trans in #Texas.
And if you don't step up to bring part of the solution, you're actively precipitating extending the status quo.
