I just need you folks to understand that I can't pretend anymore. The planet is on fire, our leaders know that billions of people are going to die, they know it's capitalism and the fossil fuels it depends on that's gonna do it. And they're not only doing nothing about it, but they're eliminating your civil rights and building fascist police states to protect rich people from YOU and ensure this ends in mass graves.

I cannot pretend "normal politics" is how we get out anymore. Can't.

I get it, you want this to end in signing a petition, and voting some bums out. You REALLY want to believe that I'm wrong, and we can civilly explain to these ppl that they're destroying the world we live in articulately enough that they'll see the error in their ways and you can go back to your life peacefully. But that ain't how this story ends, and we're past the point where that should be obvious to you.

I'm not mad at you, I'm not telling you what to think, I'm not telling you what to do. I'm telling you how it is, and you know I'm right. Yes, it's awful. Yes it's even unprecedented; it's never been "the end of the world" before, not really. Yes it sucks that this time, there really is no next time and the issues of power, class struggle, capitalist predation, and oppression can't wait till another season, another lifetime. We're out of planet, and I'm out of pretend. You don't get to pick now.
