I've designed an extremely cool ❄️ little cooling loop, basically, I have a hot side and a cold side, linked by thermal couplers which are controlled by automation. If the thermal sink for a given cooling loop is running too hot, it activates the lefthand door and heat leaks out into the extremely cold chunk, if a given thermal sink, the righthand door will activate and transfer heat from the hot steam generated by the aqua-tuner keeping the cold chunk so frigid.

this took a long time to set up but the temperatures are so easily tweakable and they are so consistent coming out of this thing, I absolutely love it. I am not even using all 6 thermal couplers and I already want to build more of them, I could farm literally every crop using these sorts of temperature controls! I just might! I probably will. That's the plan, actually.

also this temperature overlay is just so pretty, these neat little rectangles all of a uniform color, beautiful.

I'm going to need more heat if I really want this industrial chunk to actually produce stuff, the whole thing needs to be filled with hot steam. I could get that hot steam from a hot steam geyser, but I'm pretty sure trying to pump 500 degree steam nearly across half the map, through some leaky stone gas pipes would be a bad idea

@starwall I love oni temperature stuff! I wish you could play more with refrigerants and latent heat though

re: oxygen not included stuff

@Petra I've actually seen some people use molten salt as a refrigerant in a device meant to melt steel, it was very impressive

@starwall oh wow
