I've designed an extremely cool ❄️ little cooling loop, basically, I have a hot side and a cold side, linked by thermal couplers which are controlled by automation. If the thermal sink for a given cooling loop is running too hot, it activates the lefthand door and heat leaks out into the extremely cold chunk, if a given thermal sink, the righthand door will activate and transfer heat from the hot steam generated by the aqua-tuner keeping the cold chunk so frigid.

The New Horizons probe passed by the Pluto system 5 years ago, in 2015, and since then it's flown out far enough into space that the nearest star system to the sun has changed its apparent location in the sky, slightly.

The probe has traveled 49.5 AU, or about 7 and a half billion kilometers. That's about 412 light minutes.

It's travelled that far, and only one star system appears to move at all, and only by a hair. Space is big.

I'll build a quick little cooling loop, nothing too complicated,,,

The Arecibo observatory has suffered a second cable break and is set to be demolished due to safety concerns. It is the world's largest radar observatory, located in Puerto Rico, it has become iconic over the years, featuring in a James Bond film.

The Arecibo observatory measured the periodicity of the Crab Pulsar in 1968 and provided the first solid evidence that neutron stars exist, and in 1990 it discovered the first 3 exoplanets, in orbit around a pulsar no less!

look, if I could take such a photo of myself, I totally would, and YOU WOULD TOO. no judgement here.

granted, most black holes don't have visible accretion disks, but can you IMAGINE finding one of these in Elite? The fact that they don't have these bendy effects on anything except for the background stars, and the weird part where the stars actually appear in FRONT of the black holes in Elite is downright silly, that's not how black holes work.

99.95% of the galaxy is still completely unexplored

Hopefully in another 4 years we'll finally be at 1% of the galaxy explored

Of the top 10 highest grossing movies of 2019, 7 of them were Disney movies. They have a practical monopoly on our culture, and the lessons that these movies contain are increasingly empty.

Anyways here's a picture of me on this planet's moon, a lost Luna twin. I'm sitting on the central peak of a particularly large crater, and I climbed the whole central mountain to get there. Because I can. In the distance, the little, weird earth-clone I found is hanging in the sky.

On Earth, we define these as the Artic circle, the Tropic of Cancer, the Equator, the Tropic of Capricorn, and the Antarctic Circle. These lines are not drawn arbitrarily, but rather are defined by how we've defined what is a polar circle and what is a tropical region, and we can actually apply a function to figure out how different axial tilts would result in different tropical/polar circle boundaries.
