So, I dunno who here needs to hear this, and I absolutely can't speak to how things have worked out for other people on Jorts.
But I have never once had a problem on this server and reading a comment to the effect of "Jorts has a lot of bigots; just look at how they treat Nina" is baffling to me.
I get reported out here by ppl big mad I'm posting on my own timeline and telling folks in my replies to fuck off, at what I assume are record levels. Jorts has never once failed to have my back.
I don't spend a lot of time surveying everyone on this server, and I am never even looking at the main server timeline. But I can say that in MY experience, Jorts does not appear to have any known bigots that I've ever encountered and they have NEVER treated *me* badly.
I can't speak for anyone else and I wouldn't presume to. But my experience here has been fine and if you heard otherwise, you shouldn't believe it came from me - because it did not. Must be some kinda misunderstanding.
All I've got is that someone is mistaking the absolute clusterfuck of dipshit reply guys who hover around my posts like moths to a flame, for being an artifact of Jorts somehow. But it's absolutely not, it's just how fedi works and I have some kinda superpower that enrages lanyards, bougie ass liberals, and people who think they're way lefter than they are, even when I'm not interacting with them. My block button works fine, and it's not Jorts's fault self-important muppets come to me to die.

@bri_seven lol; I think in this case they just mistook the "lol you died" and "piss piss" headers on the Jorts front page for being something TARGETED at me rather than being server trim.
But yeah, you're not wrong that a LOT of people seem super upset about "woman with opinions" out here.
@AnarchoNinaWrites back in the ancient twitter days my group had an experiment: swap out the name and profile picture of your account to be femme presenting and see how people treat you differently.
I think a bunch of fedi guys could benefit from just trying it.

@AnarchoNinaWrites I’ve noticed that some people have this bizarre misapprehension of how the fedi works that leads them to believe that if you're on a “good instance" you'll be completely insulated from negative shit. Maybe someone's looking at your collection of reply-twits through that lens and judging jorts based on it?
