Support for joining the US is at like 13% in recent Canadian polls; which is alarmingly high but isn't anywhere near a majority of Canadians want this. Their rich people do tho.
I can think of another reason for this. Canada is currently roughly 70% white while the US is roughly 61% and decreasing. Racial identity is really important to the MAGA folks. And of course Canada has lots of natural resources, which is why the rich folks like the idea.
