Today I randomly learned that Gen Alpha is using "Ohio" to mean "cringe" and as a lifelong Ohio hater, I have to say the kids are alright...
Me: "I would be prepared to trade Ohio to the South..."
Friend: "For what?"
Me: "..."
Friend: "I mean for which state?"
Me: "I'm not sure you're understanding the concept here."
(I kid, I actually spent Christmas Eve with someone from Ohio who is dating a family friend and they were delightful. Of course, their opinion of Ohio itself might be even more negative than mine so that might be what I liked about her.)
@AnarchoNinaWrites Ohio is my US 'blind spot'... I associate aboslutely nothing with it and even though I am quite adept in placing US states on their correct spot on the map....for some reason I always place Ohio above Montana next to Washington....like trying to mentally get it into Canadian Niemandsland....just away.
Must be a weird place.
@chawopro Ohio is one of two "Northern US States" that wished they'd joined the Confederacy even knowing how that story ends. That's pretty much all you need to know about it.
There are of course plenty of fine people living in Ohio, but they are marginalized and exploited by the nazis that run the place.
@AnarchoNinaWrites Oh. I figured from some of the stories one hears.
