Movie nerds of fedi! What are the various remakes and homages over the decades to the falling wall stunt in Steamboat Bill Jr and what are some of the ways it’s been done behind the scenes?

@Sandra it's not a movie, but the first time I ever saw it was an episode of MacGyver and I thought it was the cleverest thing I'd ever seen

@robotcarsley I'm curious how they implemented that effect in MacGyver!

@Sandra I just assumed it was precise measurement and nerves of steel. In the episode it was a building facade rather than an actual wall and if I remember right it was something he set up to clobber some bad guys while leaving him and a compatriot unharmed

@robotcarsley In the original Steamboat Bill JR, it was measurement and nerves of steel, famously. I'm super curious to see both which homages have also had similar nerves of steel, and which have come up with other clever ways to do it. I love MacGyver
