@Sandra this seems extremely cool to me. I've always loved the gameplay of Puerto Rico, but yeah, the little brown "colonist" tokens that you draft from a ship and send to your plantations have always been conceptually horrifying. I love that this rework was started by actual Puerto Rican people and featured them heavily in the redesign and art process

@Sandra and it's exactly the same thing as gamergate, and it got heated right around the same time. The only reason it never reached the same heights is that board gamers are on average a little older and more relaxed, and they get together in person, where people are more easily moderated by one another and don't whip up into a mob as easily as online

And those "politics" and "historicity" and "accuracy" is something they're super into sometimes, while at other times "it's just a game", and when is when? Whenever they can "fight against wokeness" of course.
