Lol, just saw someone on my TV say "you're taking it out of context" in reference to the Trump ad that featured a newspaper quote about increased productivity after the "creation of a unified Reich" and literally quoted Big Brother/Engsoc from 1984 ("Peace Through Strength") and Imma just go ahead and say "that's bullshit, the context makes it worse."
Check it out for yourself, someone on here posted the video:
(Yes, I'm aware Trump's campaign is claiming that it was a staffer/fan made video; that video was STILL an ad, and that distinction means precisely fucking NOTHING when the official account shares it online. It might be a FREE Trump ad, but at that point, it's STILL a Trump ad and it's still officially endorsed by Downmarket Mussolini's campaign - welcome to "I ain't got time for your excuse-making for fascists.")
@AnarchoNinaWrites Ah. A staffer
did it.
I'm just glad we are still in the period where he has to disavow this in some way instead of being all like "yeah... I did it. What ya gonna do?"
Seems quite common among fascists these days, i.e. "somebody else" doing campaign work, totally "unrelated" of course, but *very* beneficial.
As long as they take it instead of fiercely fighting it it's entirely *their* campaign.
@cy In fairness, I'm aging but hip enough to use the internet, so I make no distinction between my TV and computer screen - despite calling both "my TV."
