Folks, I'm not picking on anyone but you gotta change your frame of reference re: fascism or you're gonna be forced into a reactive position by nazis basically forever.
When you say to me "I don't understand how these nazis can't see how they're being hoodwinked," and "can't they see this is harming them too," or "what they want is stupid/false/impossible" all you're saying is "I'm not a nazi." Which I mean congrats, that's important.
But these folks aren't about truth, or facts, or emotional growth. They're about revenge and power. It's not supposed to make sense to you because you're not an emotionally stunted shitbag who wants everyone they don't like punished or perished by power structures that agree with their, again, wholly irrational seething hatred.
These folks GENUINELY believe that if they can't have it all, precisely the way they want it, it's better for everything to burn. Really. Accept it. It's who they are.
There is not going to a be a point where the fascists "come around." They don't do that. They cannot be reasoned with; even if and when all their bullshit crumbles right in front of their eyes. They do not "get it" they are not going "get it" because they are operating in vibes-base mental space where there are always in groups and enemies. Fascism is basically a nihilist death cult at its core so "okay you got what you wanted and everything sucks" isn't going to change ANYTHING for nazis.
There is a reason folks on the left say "fascists get the wall." There is a reason it took tank divisions to stop the 3rd Reich. Even if and when you start piling up dead nazis in ditches they are not going to "come around" - they are going to retreat into the shadows and wait for another chance. Which is exactly what they did after WWII. The best you can hope for is making nazis afraid again. You will never CONVINCE them that they're wrong because the reason they turned to fascism is THEY KNOW.
@AnarchoNinaWrites
"The Cruelty is the Point."
@AnarchoNinaWrites I
hope most people aren't actual fascists, but rather selfish idiots who thought they'd be better off with fascists. They *might* decide that their selfishness is best served by somebody else when the fascist nightmare takes hold in full.
It's probably going to be too late, unfortunately.
@pgcd Hope is not a strategy.
@AnarchoNinaWrites They've 100% externalized their loci of control. They believe it only gets better by Trump's hand or by none and any failures are just proof of how hard the job is and how helpless they would have been to fix it without their strong man.
They're 100% bought in that "somebody needs to do something" and also that they are absolutely never going to step up and be that somebody, they've got a guy for that instead.
